I will state upfront that this posting has absolutely nothing to do with tadpole trikes. Veterans Day is nearly upon us and so I offer this as a tribute to our nation’s fallen military men and women. The story is presented via video and here is the video description:
“After over 8 months of marathon+ days, Mike Ehredt’s amazing personal tribute to over 6,550 fallen US Servicemen and women ended on Veterans Day, November 11, 2012, in Galveston, Texas, at 1:30 PM. In 2010, Mike ran from Astoria, OR, to Rockland, ME, and placed 4,424 flags, one every mile for every US soldier and Marine lost in Iraq. Then, in 2012, Mike placed the last of 2,140 flags, honoring those US soldiers and Marines who had died in Afghanistan.”
I don’t know if it is an oversight or what, but I find it disturbing that sailors and airmen are not mentioned (included) … only soldiers and Marines. Anyway, I think you will find this a moving video presentation.
My sincerest heartfelt thank you to all who have served/are serving in our nation’s military.
