There is good news for those who have been looking for the popular Nashbar Ragster sandals. They are once again being offered by on their website. That being said I noticed that on both Amazon and Ebay they are still showing either “sold out” or “not available”.

The Ragster sandal is a lower cost sandal which is a good quality product. It is a SPD cycling footwear. They are definitely much more affordable than the well known and popular Shimano and Keen brands.

Right now the price is about $50 which they show is a sale price as their list price is about $56. When I bought mine a few years ago I got them on sale for about $35. I don’t know if such sales will be appearing in the future. We can only hope so. At least they are back available again and that is good news. BTW, HERE is a conversion chart to help with the shoe sizes.

HERE is a good article on cycling sandals.

  1. Steve,
There is a much better way than clip-ins. My toes were falling asleep all the time using them. I researched a bit and found Pedaling Innovations pedals. They are phenomenal and cured my problem. And my feet stay on the pedals, using care. Check them out for yourself. I am not a paid endorser of this product but my wife uses them also and we love them.
Thanks for your blog. I enjoy it and one day we will meet on the Greenway.

    1. You are “preaching to the choir” so to speak. I am not a fan of the SPD system. I have the shoes, sandals and pedals but I don’t use them as I just don’t like them. I find them uncomfortable and I don’t like having my feet attached to the pedals. I switched to heel slings which I much prefer but for quite awhile now I don’t even use them. I simply use platform type BMX pedals which I much prefer. I have never had a problem of my feet going down onto the ground if and when my foot comes off of the pedal so I feel quite safe without any retention system. I posted this article simply to inform readers that these popular sandals are once again available as there are multitudes of trike riders who do like the SPD system and want to wear this cycling footwear.
