SEARCH THIS SITE

Over the years since I fist started this website I have written about a lot of different things. I am quite sure that there are many readers of this blog who don’t know that there are easy ways to find what you may be looking for or how to go about it. So I thought I would write this posting to explain it.

SEARCH FOR IT … I have tried to lay out this blog making it “user-friendly”. I purposely placed a Search Box at the very top of the right hand column and selected one with a Go button (magnifying glass) to use in case the reader doesn’t know to use the Enter Key to proceed with the search. So whatever the reader is searching for is quite easy to accomplish. Just type in whatever it is and click on the magnifying glass. If something exists it will show up in the search results. There may be more than one posting about it and, if so, they will all be listed.

SEARCH BY CATEGORY … Just a short ways further down in the right side column below the Recent Posts is “CATEGORIES”. There are many to choose from and using these is an easy way to find all sorts of postings on things the reader is interested in.

There is also a third way … searching by tags, but I don’t have a clue how to do so. Anyway, these two methods can be quite valuable. Give it a try.   And, of course, …

IN OBSERVATION OF MLK JR HOLIDAY

Note- My apologies for the appearance of this post. I worked hard to lay it all out right but for some reason it refuses to post the way I have it laid out. The video I have embedded is suppose to appear much further below but it is clear at the top blocking the title of the post. No matter what I attempt to do it won’t change.  BTW, the title of this posting is OBSERVING MLK  jr HOLIDAY.

The city in which I live, Fort Wayne, Indiana, was built on the confluence of 3 rivers. The St. Joe River  flows in from the north. The St. Marys River flows in from the south and then turns east and joins up with the St. Joe River where it continues east and the name is changed to the Maumee River. Our original trail system was built alongside of these three rivers and is called the Rivergreenway.  Of course, having rivers means having bridges to cross the rivers. Traffic flow into and out of a city with rivers is limited by the number of bridges available. One of our main north-south streets underwent closing the bridge several years ago to totally rebuild it. Of course, that was a major inconvenience but once the project was completed and the new bridge was opened for use it got everybody’s vote of approval. The new bridge is quite nice. It was dedicated to the late Martin L. King, Jr.

Here is a video of a tadpole trike ride over the bridge and thru  the east side of Headwaters Park in downtown Fort Wayne. Several of Mr. King’s quotes are displayed along the length of the bridge.

As seen in the video  the bridge is capable of displaying various lighting at night making if very attractive.

RIBBON STREAMER SAFETY FLAGS

like ribbon streamer flags. HERE is a source for them. Sarasota Sun Creations is the name of the company. The flags sell for about $40 each. There are quite a few different ones to select from. Those bright colors and the fact that the streamers move around a lot in the wind really draw attention to the flag. The streamer type flags I have had in the past fade out rather quickly in the sun and all too soon become rather ineffective compared to what they offered when brand new. Of course, the same is true for my full size safety flags. My streamers also frayed badly and all too quickly and easily. I don’t know how these would do. If I were wanting an effective safety flag I think I would give this company my business. I have my own supply of custom made safety flags however so it does not look like I will be buying any of these. They do wear out and fade out so I don’t know how long my supply will last me.

Stay safe out there. Use effective safety flags. They will help you …
