  1. I am new at triking. The rail trails are calling. I live in WI and have some hills to climb. What is the best way to negotiate the hills with the trike?

    1. Make sure you have a trike with sufficient gearing as you will need a very low gear to climb hills. Climbing hills is rather slow on a tadpole trike, but at least you don’t have to worry about balancing at slow speeds like you do on a bike. And if you get tired during a climb you can always stop and rest sitting on your trike. As long as you are in a very low gear it is easy enough to take off again by just start pedaling. You mentioned rail trails. Rail trails should not have much of an incline to deal with as trains only had a maximum of 2 % grade.
