TWO TRIKE CARRIER

As the saying goes … there is more than one way to skin a cat. In this case, there is more than one way to transport two trikes with just one vehicle. Here is a video showing just this …

HOW TO TRANSPORT 2 TADPOLE TRIKES IN 1 VEHICLE

This certainly is not  anything all that challenging. It is simple enough to figure out how to accomplish this … at least it should be. However, in case anyone is struggling with this here is help …

HOW SWEET IT IS (to be able to ride from home)

  “HOW SWEET IT IS”

No, I am not talking about a cup of coffee or tea. Being able to ride from home vs having to haul my trike somewhere to ride it saves me a lot of hassle and money. And it provides me with even more exercise plus the opportunity to do some shopping while I am out which,  of course, saves me even more money by not driving someplace to shop. I have hauled home lots of stuff on my trike. How sweet it is!  Oh, and I can get to the trail almost as fast as I can driving my truck there.

If I were riding on grass or fields of weeds to get where I am going to ride (on paved trails) I would have well worn paths by now. But I ride on paved streets and sidewalks and some parking lots. I mean how sweet it is!

Unlike the Amish and their horses I do not damage the pavement. I also don’t leave manure laying on the pavement and get away with it.  There is nothing sweet about that!

It has been years since I last drove my pickup truck hauling my trike anywhere to ride it. It seldom ever gets started and the battery runs way down to where I have to charge it occasionally.  I probably have not driven it 5 miles over the last 5 years. I live about two miles from two different trails … the Maumee Pathway to the south of my house and the Saint Joe Pathway to the east of my house. And I can connect to all the other trails from these two trails. Yes, how sweet it is!

I know many people say that where they live it is just too dangerous to ride from home and that they have no choice but to haul there trikes somewhere to start their rides. I am thankful I don’t have that situation. How sweet it is!

Well, like ol’ Forest Gump … that’s all I’ve got to say about that. I hope to …

KEEP ON TRIKIN’ …  and riding from home. I mean like … “HOW SWEET IT IS!”

Oh, while I am at it … HOW SWEET IT IS TO BE LOVED BY JESUS!”

TRANPORTING YOUR TRIKE

This is a topic I have covered before. This Laid Back Bike Report video covers hauling them in three different vehicles.

In the video they suggest placing the trike inside of the SUV front first with the crankset and boom up between the seats right beside the people sitting in the seats. I personally think I would rather have the rear wheel there. I rarely ever haul my trike anywhere since I don’t go anywhere outside of my home area to ride. I just ride on my local trails. That saves me a lot of money and assures that I sleep in my own bed every night which I greatly appreciate.  Yes, it gets old and I admit I would much prefer to be riding new trails nearly everyday but it ain’t gonna happen. I just have to make do with what I have and am thankful for our local trail system of over 130 miles of paved trails. I am able to  …

DOUBLE DECKER TRIKE RACK

Many tadpole trike riders transport their trikes to get to places where they ride them. Hitchrider makes trike racks for this purpose. They offer a kit to convert their single rack into a two trike rack. Here is a video about it.

TRIKE TRANSPORT IDEAS

Here is a man who came up with a simple means of transporting two trikes using his SUV. One is inside and the other is outside. With his rig no lifting of the trikes is involved.
