“HOW SWEET IT IS”
No, I am not talking about a cup of coffee or tea. Being able to ride from home vs having to haul my trike somewhere to ride it saves me a lot of hassle and money. And it provides me with even more exercise plus the opportunity to do some shopping while I am out which, of course, saves me even more money by not driving someplace to shop. I have hauled home lots of stuff on my trike. How sweet it is! Oh, and I can get to the trail almost as fast as I can driving my truck there.
If I were riding on grass or fields of weeds to get where I am going to ride (on paved trails) I would have well worn paths by now. But I ride on paved streets and sidewalks and some parking lots. I mean how sweet it is!
Unlike the Amish and their horses I do not damage the pavement. I also don’t leave manure laying on the pavement and get away with it. There is nothing sweet about that!
It has been years since I last drove my pickup truck hauling my trike anywhere to ride it. It seldom ever gets started and the battery runs way down to where I have to charge it occasionally. I probably have not driven it 5 miles over the last 5 years. I live about two miles from two different trails … the Maumee Pathway to the south of my house and the Saint Joe Pathway to the east of my house. And I can connect to all the other trails from these two trails. Yes, how sweet it is!
I know many people say that where they live it is just too dangerous to ride from home and that they have no choice but to haul there trikes somewhere to start their rides. I am thankful I don’t have that situation. How sweet it is!
Well, like ol’ Forest Gump … that’s all I’ve got to say about that. I hope to …
KEEP ON TRIKIN’ … and riding from home. I mean like … “HOW SWEET IT IS!”
Oh, while I am at it … HOW SWEET IT IS TO BE LOVED BY JESUS!”
