GOT QUESTIONS ABOUT E-ASSIST?

Are you more less uninformed about e-assist and wanting to learn about the subject? Glen Aldridge has compiled a webpage that has lots of information to help others learn. Glen is not only a fellow triker but he has his own business involving bikes and trikes. He rents out such cyclery as well as sells and services customers with e-motors, batteries, etc.

  1. I just read your article about adding pedal-assist to a trike. I have an ICE trike with pedal-assist but I am interested adding pedal assist to my Bacchetta COrsa 24 two-wheeler and wondered if you have anyone in the northeast of the US that you could recommend.

Thank you for anything you can advise me.

    1. Hi Jeff, I am not familiar with Barchettas but you will need to make sure your Bottom Bracket is within the size limits to fit a common Bafang or Tongsheng mid drive. If you intend to install a hub motor you will need to make sure your drop out widths are also correct for the front or rear motor you wish to use. Don’t assume they are all the same or that any motor will fit. In upper State New York, the one person I would get advice from is The Bicycleman. He is the current day version of Sheldon Brown & you can rely on his advice.

  2. Thank you for the plug, Steve. (E bikes…………….Maybe I should stand in the corner for that one)
