I find it interesting how much difference of opinion there is on any topic. One can find very differing opinions on pretty much anything or anybody. For instance, tadpole trikes are getting better and better known than they were years ago. Some people love them while others hate them. Of course, usually those who would say that they hate them have no experience with them and know very little about them. To my way of thinking that is not fair … nope, not fair to them nor to tadpole trikes. There is a good chance that they may totally change their thinking … their opinion … of tadpole trikes otherwise.
Then there is the matter of knowledge … how to go about doing something. I make no profession of being the most knowledgeable person concerning tadpole trikes, but I would like to think I have a pretty fair understanding of them. I have been writing this blog for a number of years now and have covered a lot of different topics over those years. And I have found that people fall into a few different categories. Some follow this blog, like it, benefit from it and appreciate it. Some have never heard of it … which puzzles me and surprised me. Some are very much aware of it and are indifferent towards it and me. Some are very much aware of it and despise it and me. That is the truth! Some have had some pretty ugly thing to say about me … calling me somebody who thinks he knows it all … self proclaimed expert … a braggart, etc. I certainly make no profession of knowing it all. There are lots of things I don’t know. There are those who know more than I do. I have been wrong before and I readily admit it. But I am an honest person who only wants to help others in something I know some things about. I am not out to ruffle feathers nor am I trying to. That, in fact, is the last thing I want to do.
Why do I write this blog? There are others who are more qualified, I am sure. I would like to think that there are others out there who benefit from it and it is helping some people. Am I wrong for doing this? I guess time will tell. Surely I won’t be able to keep writing if forever. I am over 77 now. I assume I will continue it as long as I am able to. There are things I have learned along the way and I have shared those things on this blog to try to help others.
I admit something here that may indeed sound boastful. I am a member of various Facebook recumbent trike groups. I share a lot of links to my blog to articles I have posted about things people are asking about and/or needing help with. I don’t think most of them have ever heard of my blog. I can’t help but think … “if only” … yeah, if only they would read my blog they would have the answer to their question … they would know what they are needing/wanting to know about tadpole trikes. That is why I write the blog … to inform people … to help them concerning tadpole trikes. I don’t make any money off of the blog. In fact, it costs me money to write it. I have to pay to have my domain name “Tadpole Rider”. I could have the blog for free. I did until a couple of years ago when I decided to get my own domain which, by the way, I much prefer.
There is a well known adage which comes to mind. “You can’t please everybody all the time”. Should I quit because some people don’t like me … don’t approve of me and what I am doing having this blog? I think not. I get very little feedback from readers. Sometimes I wonder if anybody is out there. Despite the relative silence I am pretty sure there are those who read this. WordPress, which is who I use to write it, tells me I have a following … readers of the blog. They proved daily reports .
I am not going to ask for readers to respond to this posting. Most would not anyway. I will just keep plugging away and the haters can hate. They will always be around. That is just the way it is. Like I said at the start of this … it is all according to who you talk to.

Hello Steve, just want to state here how much I enjoy reading your blog and also your straight forward writing style. It’s like talking to a friend who shares the same interests that I have, but knows more about them. Thank you for your dedication to writing this as a tadpole trike is definitely a different animal than just an everyday bicycle. I don’t ride much lately as, since my husband’s death and my increasing disabilities last year, I have not been able to ride. But my passion for it will always remain and I pray that with your encouragement here I will be able to go out again soon and never just forget about going. You are keeping that dream alive for me! Thank you!
